Dragon and Rose Tattoo

1. Standard Dragon Rose Tattoo

A standard Dragon and Rose Tattoo is simply a Dragon of your choice surrounded by Roses.

The most common of the designs is to have an Eastern wingless Dragon almost at full length with the Roses adorned along the body.

This Dragon Floral Tattoo is really great with a long Eastern Dragon along the back surrounded by brightly colored Roses. 

2. Colorless Dragon And Rose Tattoo

You don’t have to add color to your Dragon and Rose Tattoo to have the perfect design.

A great artist and great design can encapsulate all the meaning you desire without the need for color.

This design is really excellent, with magnificent detailing on the Dragon’s scales and the Rose petals, and I love the moon design at the top. 

3. Dragon and Single Rose Tattoo

You, of course, don’t have to have the Dragon surrounded by a bouquet of Roses. You can settle for just the one Rose.

This design depicts another Eastern Dragon with antler-style horns coiling slightly around a single Rose. I like how, in this design, there is a contrast between the color of the Rose and stem against the colorless Dragon.

4. Fine-Line Dragon And Rose Tattoo

Sticking with the single Rose motif, This Eastern Dragon and Rose Tattoo is done in a fine-line style.

Fine-line tattoos are known for their thin precision lines, minimalist design, and subtle aesthetic. This design is really great, with the Rose and stem only having their outline in their own colors. 

5. Roses On Dragon Tattoo

While most Dragon and Rose Tattoos have the Dragon surrounded by Roses, why not try a design like this where the Roses are atop the Dragon.

This design is really nice with incredibly realistic-looking Roses and the Roses themselves looking like they are a part of, if not growing out of the Dragon. 

6. Hand Poked Dragon And Rose Tattoo

For something a little different, try out a hand poked design like here.

Hand poked tattoos are characterized by their manual dotting method technique, where a tattoo artist makes tiny dots with the needle, which accumulate to form lines and shapes.

This design is really nice with the sparkle effects and the Dragon breathing fire. 

7. European Dragon And Rose Tattoo

European Dragons have a bad reputation for being malevolent, greedy, and hostile creatures.

However, modern interpretations have given these mythical beasts a new lease on life as guardians and friends similar to their Eastern cousins.

This beautifully colored European Dragon Rose Tattoo is fantastic, with a lot of great detailing particularly on the Dragon’s wings and Rose petals. 

8. Chinese Dragon And Rose Tattoo

Chinese Dragons symbolize many things, from marital harmony, good fortune, and strength, to name a few.

This Chinese Red Dragon Tattoo has the Dragon done in a fine line style with Black Roses around it.

While Black Roses are associated with death and loss, I don’t think this was the artist's meaning for this design. 

9. Japanese Dragon And Rose Tattoo

Japanese Dragon Tattoos symbolize wisdom, freedom, guidance, etc, and are also deities who bring rain.

This Japanese Dragon and single Rose Tattoo is done in a traditional Japanese Brush stroke style with excellent detailing on the ethereal-looking Rose and leaves.

You don’t have to settle with just using the usual Red Rose for your Dragon Tattoo.

You can choose a variety of different Rose colors from white, gold, purple, or like this design, Blue. This design is mesmerizing with an elegant-looking Dragon coiling around the stem of the Roses with a sword near the bottom.

You can really go wild with your Dragon and Rose Tattoo design by having it done in a surrealist style.

Surrealist designs are known for their irrational imagery and dream inspiration and come with a wealth of symbolism.

I’m not so sure what the symbolism of this Dragon and Rose Tattoo is supposed to be, but maybe you can find your own meaning beneath the chaos.

13. Coiling Dragon And Rose Tattoo

While many of the Dragon and Rose Tattoos have the Dragon coiling around the Rose, you can choose to go all out with the coiling like in this design.

The Dragon in this piece is contorted right around the stem of the Rose and has thorn-like protrusions along its spine to match the flower. I think this design is a cover-up of another. 

14. Dragon Rose and Moon Tattoo

You can add additional elements to your Dragon and Rose Tattoo, too. Different elements can add another layer of meaning to your chosen design, depending on what it is.

This Dragon and Rose Tattoo has the Dragon looking towards the moon. The moon can symbolize many things, including the passage of time, so this design may symbolize that the wearer has watched a love they cherished pass them by or that it is gone.

I’m not really sure what the meaning, if there is any that this design is trying to portray, but the detailing on the Dragon’s eye is still excellent and would make a fine addition to your tattooing collection.

Rather than have the Dragon adorned with Roses, leaves, and stems, this artist’s design has the body of the Dragon made out of the Roses and stems themselves.

It is a testament to the creative design of artists all over the world who can create wonderful pieces with seemingly unrelated imagery. 

26. Maleficent Dragon And Rose Tattoo

If you are a lover of Disney and Disney villains, try getting your Rose with a maleficent Black Dragon Tattoo design.

Maleficent is described as ruthless, dark, and devious and is responsible for all the misfortune in King Stefan's kingdom.
